01

Walk the job

Speak or tap the scope in. Gallons, hours, and prep are priced before you leave the driveway.

02

Present the proposal

One click builds it — one price or Good / Better / Best. Close it in the same visit.

03

Order materials

A purchase list pools paint across the job and right-sizes the containers.

04

Run the job

The signed scope becomes rooms, crews, and work orders. Nothing gets retyped.

05

Bill and get paid

Invoices come from the job itself. Deposits are already counted, and customers pay online.

The job scope

Describe the job. The scope builds itself.

Frequently asked questions

Most painters go from walking in the door to a priced estimate in minutes. Capture rooms and areas as you walk, click Create Estimate, and review the per-room sections on the spot — while you're still standing in the house, not back at the office.
Just talk. Smart Scope's Walk & Talk mode listens continuously — tap the mic once and narrate the job room by room. Your words become structured rooms, surfaces, and prep you review before pricing, photos you snap land on the room you're scoping, and a live transcript keeps everything auditable. Prefer typing? The same session takes typed notes and photos too.
Yes. The customer signs right on the screen — drawn or typed, with explicit legally-binding consent language — and pays the deposit by card through Stripe as part of accepting. The confirmation records who signed, the date, the deposit paid, and the remaining balance.
Yes. Choose brand/sheen preferences and defaults; the purchase list notes brand/sheen and aggregates quantities by container size so the paint store can fill the order quickly.
PriceTable includes the rest of the workflow: Leads and scheduling, jobs and visits, painter-specific billing, invoices, and online payments via Stripe. Painting jobs can bill from live authorized value with deposit credits, progress and final invoices, approved change-order billing, and reminder-guided follow-up. Two-way QuickBooks Online sync keeps accounting in step — invoices push out, customers and items import in, and payments recorded in QuickBooks land back on the PriceTable invoice. For the fuller picture, see the Send Invoices and Get Paid Faster guide.

Materials are based on coverage by substrate and method, with adjustable waste factor and container strategies. Labor uses production rates plus setup/cleanup and height/access multipliers. Aerial lift and scaffold rentals price in as line items at day, week, or month rates — frozen from the moment you add them, so a later catalog change can't rewrite what you quoted. You can tune every default in Painting Settings to match your crew.
A single click converts the accepted estimate into a job. PriceTable preserves every room, surface, color, and prep task from the job scope, creates a budget baseline, carries accepted estimate deposits into the job as credits, and lets you choose whether to schedule visits immediately or later. Crews get per-visit work orders showing only their assigned rooms, and the job overview tracks actual hours and spend against the sold baseline with "On track" and "Over plan" indicators plus gross margin comparison. For the full operational flow, see the Painting Job Management Guide.
Yes. Present Mode turns your tablet into a chromeless, customer-safe view of the proposal — nothing is emailed ahead. The customer compares the tiers right there, and leaving the screen takes a deliberate press-and-hold, so you can hand the device over; pair it with iPad Guided Access for a hardware-level lock. You can even practice on a watermarked sample proposal before your first real appointment — nothing in it is saved or sent.
Three tiers — labeled Essential, Standard, and Premium by default, renameable to fit how you sell — with your quoted scope anchored AS QUOTED while the customer decides. Each tier shows its price, a warranty chip with the term and up to three highlights, the actual paint products by name when your catalog carries them, and exactly what changes as you step up. Changing tiers swaps the paint and keeps the finish you specified whenever the new product line stocks it.
You won't need to fill in a template. PriceTable builds the estimate from the scope you captured room by room and formats it as a professional proposal with your logo, your license and insurance details, warranty terms, and Good / Better / Best options — nothing to retype after the visit. If you want to study how a strong estimate is structured first, see the free painting estimate template guide.
PriceTable runs in the browser on any modern phone or tablet — there's no native app to install, and you don't need one. Walk & Talk is built for the phone in your hand during the walkthrough, and Present Mode is built for the tablet at the kitchen table.
